If I book an entertainer and they end up getting sick or have to cancel, what happens?

These very unforeseen circumstances and very rarely happen, but we’ll make sure a similar act is there to replace them if they come down with the flu the night before the big day.

While this isn’t common, we ensure you’re looked after. Over the years, we’ve built VERY strong relationships with the entertainers we work with. This allows us to do everything we can during those “just in case” moments.

Is it up to us to provide sound, staging, lighting and other AV equipment?

The simple answer is yes. When you book an entertainer through Corporate Entertainers, you are receiving a world-class caliber professional. You want to make sure they have what they need to make it an event everyone remembers.

We’ll help you discuss with your entertainer what they might need on the big day, but we often recommend the following:

1. Have two microphones on hand because a back up is always smart.

2. Test your speakers and surround sound well in advance. You want to make sure your audience can hear them!

3. Ensure there is enough lighting. You want you audience to see them. Most venues have great lighting, but it’s smart to visit the performance area ahead of time. Determine if you’ll need any additional or special lighting.

4. Does your act need any additional AV equipment like a projector or special set up? Remember to ask this question well in advance.

Do I have to book the hotel and flight for the entertainer if they’re from out of town?

It really depends. Every entertainer, location and show is different. It’s important to note that many negotiated fees do not include the cost of hotel accommodations and transportation if they’re travelling from out of town. Be sure to discuss this at the time of your booking. The contract is a big part of hiring an entertainer, but it can be daunting. That’s why we’ll help you negotiate the terms and conditions so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Just be sure you remember this and budget accordingly!

What else should I have on hand for the entertainer?

You want to make sure your entertainer enjoys the experience as much as your audience is about to. Here are some things to keep in mind as you plan your event down to the last detail:

1. Is the entertainer driving to the event? Make sure they have detailed directions and a reserved parking spot. You want to make it easy for them.

2. Are they flying? Think ahead and schedule the right transportation to and from the airport, hotel, dinner and venue.

3. Create a place to call their own! Reserve a room or area that is just for them before and after the event. Almost like a Green Room. They will want a place to get prepared, store their belongings and get in the zone.

4. Water on stage, please. This is a big one!

5. The little things go a long way. You can ask them ahead of time if they want something special. While snacks, drinks or other perks aren’t necessary; they can make a big difference.
