Ottawa-born comedian and host Jon Dore spent three years
co-hosting Rogers Television's Daytime sharpening his skills to a fine point.
For his work, creativity and quick improv skills, he received the Impression
Award for best on-air personality in 2001. Many of Jon's hosting skills come
from working as a stand-up on the comedy club circuit in
Canada. In 2003 Jon took part in
the Homegrown Comedy Competition at the
Just For Laughs Festival in
Montreal, and this summer he will be returning to the festival to host the
competition.
Jon Dore is most recognized for his
part on the hottest program on Canadian TV,
CTV's Canadian Idol, as the
wacky correspondent reporting on the pressures and excitement of the contest
while interacting with the contestants and judges. Much to the delight of the
millions of viewers across the country, Jon will be returning for the third
season this coming summer.
Jon Dore has also appeared on Elvira Kurt's Adventures in Comedy and Butch
Patterson on The Comedy Network. He shot a pilot as the host for a
show entitled Design to Sell, and played a principal role on the
television series Wild Card. Jon has also been a guest host for a week on
Canada AM, entertaining viewers across the country with his unique brand
of humour.
Known from coast to coast, Jon
has loads of charisma, charm, and an incredible knack for being funny. He is a
fantastic comedian and a terrific host.
