As one of Canada’s favorite Aboriginal stand-up comedians, Gerry has shared the stage with some of the funniest people on the planet.
Personality: I want to share my story with people, said Barrett. I basically kick off my comedy set with this is where I’m at and this is what happened. That includes the sixties scoop (where aboriginal children were adopted out to white families), adoption, facing discrimination and growing up as a minority.
Why Hire Gerry Barrett? Gerry has toured his all-aboriginal themed stand-up comedy show and tribute to Elvis to corporate events and festivals across North America. “He is relaxed, funny and obviously enjoying himself. His easy laughter seduces the audience and his edgy, slightly dangerous commentary creates the necessary dynamic that a stand up must have with his audience.”
Winnipeg Free Press
“On the evening of the performance, we found Gerry to not only be punctual, professional and naturally funny, but we also found him to be highly in tune to the likes and dislikes of the audience. His uncanny ability to read what makes an audience laugh, allowed him to gear his demeanor and material towards the audience, thus bringing him great success throughout the entire performance.”
